Capri S. Cafaro is a TV personality, cookbook author, podcast host, and cultural reporter whose work explores the intersection of food, community, and American identity. A Stanford University graduate, Capri has built a career telling the stories of the people and places behind the food on our tables. Her JAMES BEARD NOMINATED PBS series America The Bountiful takes viewers on a journey through America’s backroads, investigating the nation’s diverse cultural heritage through regional food traditions. For over 5 years, Capri was the host of Eat Your Heartland Out, a Taste Awards-nominated podcast and radio show about food and culture in the American Midwest. Produced by the Heritage Radio Network, the show aired on select NPR affiliates and every Sunday at 7pm ET on Sirius XM Channel 147 / Rural Radio. In 2020, Capri published United We Eat: 50 Great American Dishes to Bring Us All Together, a cookbook featuring one recipe from each state that received international acclaim.
Following her commitment to American storytelling, Capri is a folkways reporter for Inside Appalachia, a radio program produced by West Virginia Public Media and aired on NPR affiliates across the Appalachian region. From 2021 to 2024, Capri was a contributor to Great Lakes Now from Detroit Public Television providing on-air stories and written content for the show’s online articles. Capri is a culinary creator on Kittch, the first live streaming community of chefs and creatives providing interactive culinary content.
Capri spent years providing public affairs commentary for the #1 cable news network in the United States as well as across a variety of international outlets including BBC, CBC, Sky News, ITV and France24.
These days, you can often find Capri doing on-air cooking segments, chatting about life on Sirius XM Canada Talks or guesting on lifestyle TV shows such as The Social, Canada’s leading daytime talk show
Beyond media, Capri founded Humble Pie Home Kitchen — an e-commerce brand offering ethically sourced, American AND CANADIAN made kitchen products — and provides online cooking demos and food experiences through EatWith.
